It is no secret that the U.S. are one of the largest democracies in the world with a system of representatives from the people. Although democracy is relative to many and can be best defined in the context of a society’s degree of civilization, Abraham Lincoln, U.S. President from 1861 to 1865, the first to be able to arm himself with the courage to proclaim the small-scale abolition of slavery in January 1963 in the U.S., had to say: “Democracy is the government of the people, by the people and for the people.” As a result, democracy, it seems, is based on emancipation, inclusion and justice.

Since such a proclamation in the U.S. until today, we can really see a decrease in Nazi ideologies, that says the movements against slavery in those places were bearing results; the supporters of the far right are weakened, the emancipation of blacks in a restricted sense was possible. As a result, the inclusion of blacks in real social life in the U.S. was taking place little by little, and people tended to believe that a country could not be great in division and exclusion. In the name of all this, Obama is elected the first black president of the United States on November 4, 2008.

one cannot say that he was or is the first black to accede to this position if his complexion has not confirmed it, and the reasons for making such a persona appear in our writing are to better argue the advances made in the level of emancipation related above and the Trumpist phenomenon in the United States. Moving from the introduction to the heart of the matter, the reflection is to see, despite these advances, the issues of emancipation and inclusion remain precarious in the United States. The altercations between blacks and whites, the attacks perpetrated on innocent people and black civilians in the last decade are giant proofs of this.

The retrospective that was supposed to guide us on the Trumpist phenomenon in the U.S. should take into account Obama’s election campaign and his years as president. The Republican Party in a minority attacked him on various places questioning his legitimacy to become or be president of the United States, Obama, a shrewd politician, who had already made a fool of himself by his name which he finds funny, was obliged, they say, to publish his birth certificate which could be read on television and even on social networks. He spent his years as president without being accepted and recognized by the supporters of the far right who advocated fascist ideologies.

On November 8, 2016, the leader who had initiated the “birther” movement was elected president of the United States, and as soon as he took office, he attacked black countries, more precisely Haiti, which he describes as a shithole. His visions were the establishment of the old America with white hegemony and, perhaps, agricultural fields crowded with slaves. During his time in power, there was an outbreak of racist acts openly manifested by the far-right minority. He attacked immigrants and Americans who are not of European descent not through actions, but from racist remarks.

The efforts of some of his predecessors to make emancipation and inclusion possible in the U.S. were in the process of demolition; in the name of all this and democracy, he lost power on November 3, 2020 through scenes of disorder perpetrated by the far-right minority. From then on, he did not give up, he continued his movement towards the restoration of white supremacy. And despite the various charges he was and is accused of – tax evasion, sexual abuse, mismanagement of state affairs, attempt to annul the election, etc. – he is still on his way.

None of them could and can arrest him despite the fact that he is guilty of various charges against him. After being officially chosen by the Republican Party, after the primaries, as its candidate, on June 27, 2024, he had a debate with his rival, he lied in everything he says like the air he breathes. And of these two, one could not designate a winner, because in one is untruth and deception, and in the other the absence of lucidity is visible. The one in whom the untruth and deception are found continued on his way and became phenomenal, for many people, including many blacks, stood and stand behind him.

On July 13, 2024, in his campaign for the presidential race, he hit a bullet in the right ear, he bent quickly to avoid the worst, and then escorted by his bodyguards, he left the stage with arm movements that tell his supporters that they will not stop in their movements, and so phenomenal,  on July 21, 2024, his rival, the one in whom the lack of lucidity is visible and who has not been able to escape the fury of old age, is forced to withdraw from the race by making way for his vice president. From then on and even today, one wonders where the Trumpist phenomenon will go in the United States?
